We're hiring: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Lisbon - Hybrid model (2 days/week onsite at Spaces, Marquês de Pombal)

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Oracle DBA to join our specialized database team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Sybase environments;
• Provide expert-level support to internal DBA teams and external client deployments;
• Ensure high availability, security, and resilience of all database systems (production & non-production);
• Continuously monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system and query performance issues;
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on scalable, efficient DB architectures;
• Participate in R&D initiatives to evaluate and integrate new database technologies and features;
• Lead database migrations, upgrades, and patch management activities;
• Maintain detailed documentation and promote best practices for database operations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a DBA with deep expertise in Oracle Database Administration;
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Sybase (MariaDB/MySQL is a plus);
• Strong skills in SQL scripting, query tuning, and execution plan analysis;
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting;
• Experience managing databases in cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI and AWS);
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, pgAdmin) and automation frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certifications;
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments;
• Ability to engage directly with clients and deliver consultative support.
