Descrição da Função
We're hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer to build hardware that survives the real world.
We're working with a US-based industrial technology group that builds hardware used in mining, construction and large-scale infrastructure. Their systems operate in some of the harshest environments on the planet and rely on high-precision positioning and real-time data. They're building a specialist hardware and GNSS team in Lisbon. Now they need someone to own the physical product design that protects and enables that technology.
What you'll be responsible for:
Designing rugged enclosures for antennas, sensors and embedded electronics
Working with plastics and aluminium (injection moulding, extrusion, die-cast, machined parts)
Designing IP-rated sealing systems (gaskets, O-rings, adhesives, ultrasonic welding, overmolding)
Making products survive UV, weather, vibration and shock
Solving thermal problems inside sealed boxes
Running tolerance stacks, DFM and DFA for volume production
Using CAD and simulation (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent) to get designs right before they hit the factory
Building and testing prototypes using 3D printing, CNC and lab rigs
You will be the person who makes sure the product:
- survives the environment
- can be manufactured at scale
- and can actually be assembled and serviced in the field
