Smart Energy LAB is a Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) held by EDP Comercial, Accenture, Instituto Superior Técnico, Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon, University of Coimbra, INESCTEC and INESC ID.

Smart Energy Lab has a unique combination of science, technology and industry in the energy sector, focused on creating new products and services for the downstream of the energy value chain.

In order to create the future, we are looking for an Senior Electrical Engineer.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will perform tasks such as:

• Lead from start to finish project ownership from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing (e.g. electric vehicle charging points, home batteries, inverters, local controllers, gateways, load monitoring hardware)
• Lead the design and development of digital and analog electronics for control of electronic systems
• Lead hardware and electrical engineers
• Collaborative work with software engineers, project managers and business analysts
• Technical requirements analysis and specification
• Sourcing of components
• Installation process optimization for consumer-facing products

Specific Skills Required:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent in experience
• PhD is an advantage
• 5 or more years of hands-on experience in a relevant position
• Fluent English
• Portuguese tax number required

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Employees need to have Portuguese tax residency, be located in Lisbon region.

Contract until June 2026, with possibility to renew
