Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with a deep focus on Kubernetes (K8s) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) . The ideal candidate is an expert in automating cloud infrastructure, building robust CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, and writing sophisticated Python and Bash-based automation . You will be responsible for the scalability, reliability, and deployment automation of our containerized ecosystem, with a specific focus on high-availability, multi-zone architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Multi-Zone GKE Orchestration: Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Multi-Zone and Regional GKE clusters to ensure maximum uptime and fault tolerance across Google Cloud zones.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop custom tooling, internal operators, and sophisticated automation scripts using Python and Bash to streamline platform operations, manage system tasks, and integrate GKE with other services.
• Helm Management: Standardize application deployments by creating and maintaining complex Helm charts to manage Kubernetes manifests and environment-specific configurations.
• Advanced CI/CD: Architect and optimize end-to-end GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment cycles for microservices.
• Infrastructure Reliability: Monitor and tune cluster performance, managing node pools and auto-scaling logic to balance cost and performance in a multi-zone environment.
• GitOps & Version Control: Maintain and version-control all configuration and application logic using Git/GitLab , following GitOps best practices for seamless delivery.

Required Qualifications

• GKE Specialist: Extensive hands-on experience managing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) , specifically configuring Multi-Zone/Regional clusters and handling cross-zone traffic/reliability.
• Advanced Scripting & Coding: Proficiency in Python for infrastructure automation and API integration, combined with expert-level Bash scripting for system-level automation and CI/CD task execution.
• Helm Proficiency: Expert knowledge of packaging applications with Helm (v3+) and managing lifecycle updates for complex deployments.
• Mastery of GitLab: Professional experience with GitLab CI/CD , including advanced pipeline features (includes, triggers, and artifacts), environment scoping, and runner management.
• Containerization: Deep understanding of Docker , container optimization (multi-stage builds), and Kubernetes networking.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Service Mesh (Istio/Anthos) for managing traffic between zones.
• Expertise in observability stacks ( Prometheus/Grafana or Google Cloud Operations suite) for monitoring multi-zone health.
• Experience with Google Cloud SDK (gcloud) and advanced CLI-based cluster management.

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of dedicated experience in DevOps , with a heavy emphasis on Kubernetes orchestration and Python/Bash-driven automation.
• Proven track record of scaling high-availability applications within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
