We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior Data Engineer to join our team and help empower businesses to unlock the full potential of their data.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will leverage your in depth knowledge of Rust, orchestration (we use dagster) data pipelines dlt, dbt) in AWS, Postgres\Aurora and Apache Iceberg to build an efficient and performant data backend for our multi-tenant SAAS application. At all times you will have a product mindset, finding ways to automate with AI agents and recommend new features for our product.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a scalable data backend for our enterprise data platform
- Design data storage solutions that are efficient, secure, and scalable
- Collaborate with backend and frontend teams to integrate data solutions
- Optimize data processing workflows for performance and reliability
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using modern data tools (dagster, dlt, dbt)
- Document data architecture and processing workflows
- Build performant, efficient apis
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer\Backend Developer in a data intensive environment or in a similar role
- Strong, expert level knowledge of Apache Iceberg
- Experience with attribute-based access control (ABAC) permissions to ensure data security across enterprise environments
- Experience working with teams in a collaborative environment
- Proficiency with data processing tools and frameworks (e.g., Rust is key)
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions (AWS)
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and data integrity
- Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities
- Experience with graph databases or implementing graph-based data structures
- Previous work with LLM-based applications or AI agent systems
- Experience with real-time data processing or streaming architectures
- Experience of ML Ops & Data Ops
- Startup experience is a plus
