Your new company

Elementis is a global specialty chemicals company, with over 1,300 employees working at 23 locations across the globe. They create high-value specialty additives that enhance the performance of their customers’ products and make a positive change in the world.
Elementis is establishing a new office and modern laboratory in Porto, Portugal. They offer exciting roles in Research & Development, Human Resources, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service, Regulatory/Product Stewardship, Sales & Marketing, providing a diverse range of opportunities to grow and make an impact. Most of the roles are regional or global.

This position will support the existing portfolio through formulation development and sensory testing. You will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries and providing sales support.

Your new role 

1. You will be responsible for direct interface with the sales team and customers to provide technical support and solutions.

2. You will design new marketing data and formulations driven by customer needs and market trends.

3. You will be responsible for the evaluation of sensory, stability, and efficacy performance of materials.

4. You will present new data to the market via conferences, trade show speaking engagements and white papers.

What you’ll need to succeed 

1. Education: A bachelors degree or higher in a life science.

2. Experience: 3+ years experience in personal care formulating and/or ingredient testing?

3. IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with a strong capability for presentation creation, Project management software

4. Language Skills: Verbal and written fluency in which language(s) English, Portuguese.

5. Working arrangements: Lab position, on site 5 days weekly

6. Traveling required: Trade shows, customer visits as required.
7. Advanced understanding of personal care formulation development
8. Basic awareness of regulatory guidelines and restrictions for new product development
9. Intermediate knowledge of personal care industry market trends
   
   
   Whilst this role will be based at the Porto Hub, there will be occasions where you may be required to travel to other Elementis sites
