Multinational, leader in the Energy & Renewables sector, is currently looking to hire a Renewables Government Affairs Manager for their operations in Portugal.

Description

  • Actively track and analyse relevant legislation and policy proposals that impact the business, with a particular focus on solar and storage.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to support the development of policy positions and leading policy and regulatory changes and implementation to support the company's mission.
  • Support the development and implementation of advocacy strategies, in coordination with local needs and pre-agreed positions, including securing meetings and keeping regular interaction with public and private stakeholders.
  • Support the business team in developing new business opportunities in the region, including ensuring excellent connections between the company, grid operators and public institutions.
  • Build the company's reputation as a sector leader and raise the profile of local teams by creating engaging content. Prepare executive briefing documents for both internal and external audiences.
  • Leverage on and support the company's participation in trade associations and building coalitions within the energy and renewable sectors.
  • Manage the work of external resources such as consultants or agencies

Profile

  • University degree in related disciplines including but not limited to economics/law/engineering/political studies/international relations, etc.
  • Full professional proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish and English
  • Previous experience in renewables/solar energy in energy policy, consultancy, government affairs positions, strategic communication, or public authorities.
  • Proven track record of getting regulatory changes and implementation, successful interactions with policymakers, including ability to define, strategize, communicate, and deliver against business objectives.
  • Experience in the public policy making process and in developing partnerships with trade associations and other industry partners to push an agenda.
