QA Automation Engineer


Location: Lisbon / Oeiras


We are partnering with a well-established SaaS company in Lisbon that delivers enterprise-grade fleet management software to rental, leasing, and mobility organizations worldwide. The company is backed by solid investment and is currently modernizing its platform and engineering practices, including building a fully automated QA approach. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the automation strategy, improve testing efficiency and contribute to the quality of a globally used product.


The role


As a QA Automation Engineer, you will lead the transition from manual QA to a fully automated regression testing strategy, ensuring high-quality releases across frontend, backend, and API layers. You will work closely with frontend and backend engineers to define test strategies, implement automation frameworks, and integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipelines.


Key responsibilities


  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Playwright for frontend (Vue) and backend (.NET) applications
  • Collaborate with FE/BE engineers to define acceptance criteria and ensure comprehensive coverage of end-to-end user journeys
  • Transform existing manual test cases into automated regression tests
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Identify, track, and report defects, ensuring reproducibility and verifying fixes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation frameworks, and test coverage
  • Support release validation and regression cycles for multiple modules and APIs
  • Advocate for best practices in test automation and quality assurance


Required experience and skills


  • 3+ years of experience in software testing, preferably with some automation exposure
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright or similar automation frameworks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD integration, preferably using GitHub Actions
  • Knowledge of testing Vue.js frontend applications and .NET backend services
  • Understanding of test automation best practices, design patterns, and maintainable test code
  • Experience with end-to-end testing, API testing, and regression testing strategies
  • Proficiency with Git and agile/Scrum workflows
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Fluency in English


Nice to have


  • Experience with test management tools like Zephyr
  • Exposure to other testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
  • Experience in SaaS, mobility, or enterprise software products
  • Knowledge of DDD, SOLID principles, or software architecture concepts
