Our client is looking for an Interim Purchasing Manager to support the reorganization of the Purchasing department.

Description

Procurement Management: Manage the procurement of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other photovoltaic components. Ensure alignment with company goals and operational needs during the interim period.

Supplier Relations: Identify and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, on-time deliveries, and adherence to quality standards. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts.

Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess stock. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure materials are available for timely production without overstocking.

Cost Efficiency: Manage procurement budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure effective use of resources during the interim period. Provide reports on cost-saving initiatives and procurement performance.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all materials and components meet the required quality standards and comply with renewable energy regulations.

Market Intelligence: Stay up to date with market trends, supplier performance, and potential risks related to the photovoltaic supply chain. Advise management on key trends and challenges.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with engineering, R&D, and operations teams to meet production timelines and specifications, ensuring the timely delivery of components.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to address supply shortages or delays, especially in critical components (e.g., solar cells, inverters).

Interim Transition Support: Support the transition of responsibilities to a permanent team member, ensuring continuity and minimal disruption to operations.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, CIPS) are a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in the renewable energy or photovoltaic sector.

Proven ability to manage purchasing processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the photovoltaic industry, including knowledge of components such as solar panels, inverters, and batteries.

Strong negotiation skills and experience with supplier contract management.

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

Experience in managing global suppliers, understanding international trade regulations, and logistics.

Knowledge of sustainable sourcing and environmental certifications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.

Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
