Who Are We Looking For?
Are you passionate about luxury hospitality and enjoy creating memorable guest experiences? As a Pool Attendant, you will play a key role in ensuring the comfort, enjoyment, and well-being of our guests in the resort’s pool areas.
You will be responsible for delivering attentive, warm, and personalized service, anticipating guests’ needs and ensuring that pool facilities remain clean, organized, safe, and ready to provide an exceptional experience.
We are looking for a dynamic, friendly, and proactive individual with a genuine passion for service, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work professionally in an international luxury environment. Your Responsibilities Will Include…
- Welcoming guests to the pool areas in a warm, professional, and personalized manner, reflecting The Ritz-Carlton’s standards of hospitality from the very first interaction.
- Attending to guests’ needs and requests with courtesy, discretion, and efficiency, consistently striving to exceed their expectations.
- Preparing, arranging, and maintaining sun loungers, umbrellas, daybeds, and other pool furniture in accordance with the resort’s presentation standards.
- Managing the distribution, delivery, and collection of towels and other items required to ensure guests’ comfort.
- Keeping swimming pool areas, terraces, and relaxation spaces clean, organized, and in excellent condition throughout the day.
- Monitoring the general condition of facilities and furniture, reporting any damage, incidents, or maintenance requirements to the appropriate department.
- Ensuring that assigned areas are fully prepared before guests arrive and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout service.
- Providing accurate information about the resort’s services and facilities, including swimming pools, restaurants, activities, and other available experiences.
- Anticipating guests’ needs and offering proactive assistance, paying particular attention to individual preferences and special requests.
- Coordinating with Food and Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless and personalized service.
- Identifying and communicating guests’ preferences, special requests, and relevant incidents to support a consistent, high-quality guest experience.
- Remaining alert and responsible regarding guest safety and well-being in pool areas, immediately reporting any potential hazards or unsafe situations.
- Following the company’s safety, hygiene, and occupational health procedures, as well as the specific guidelines applicable to aquatic facilities.
- Promptly reporting accidents, injuries, lost property, unsafe conditions, or any incident requiring the attention of the relevant supervisor.
- Responding to complaints and requests with empathy, professionalism, and a solution-oriented approach, seeking appropriate resolutions and requesting support when necessary.
- Maintaining an impeccable personal appearance and professional conduct in accordance with The Ritz-Carlton’s grooming and service standards.
- Handling work materials and equipment responsibly, ensuring their proper use and care.
- Actively collaborating with the team to achieve quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction objectives.
- Protecting guests’ privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of all information accessed while performing assigned duties.
- Performing other reasonable job-related duties as requested by supervisors or management.
What We Are Looking For…
- Secondary education or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in guest service, hospitality, tourism, or a similar role. Experience in the pool areas of five-star hotels and luxury resorts will be highly valued.
- A genuine passion for service and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- A friendly, approachable, professional, and proactive attitude, with the ability to inspire confidence and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- The ability to anticipate guests’ needs and deliver personalized service.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments.
- The ability to remain calm, discreet, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to guest safety, hygiene, and well-being.
- Good physical fitness to perform duties that involve standing for extended periods, preparing pool areas, and handling work materials.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Fluency in Spanish and English. Additional languages will be considered an advantage.
- Valid authorization to work in Spain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in luxury hotels, international resorts, or five-star establishments.
- Knowledge of luxury service standards and The Ritz-Carlton philosophy of personalized guest care.
- Experience preparing, organizing, and maintaining pool areas and outdoor facilities.
- Education or training in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Training in first aid, occupational safety, or water safety, where relevant to the duties of the position.
- Knowledge of Tenerife’s services, activities, and main tourist attractions.
- Previous experience working in international and multicultural environments.
