POSITION SUMMARY
As a Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and administering accurate and timely payroll processing for all associates while ensuring full compliance with company policies, labor regulations, tax requirements, and collective bargaining agreements where applicable. This role supports the organization's commitment to creating an exceptional associate experience by ensuring payroll services are delivered with accuracy, confidentiality, integrity, and a spirit of service.
The Payroll Supervisor partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, department leaders, and external providers to ensure payroll operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Payroll Administration
Supervise the end-to-end payroll process for all associates, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
Review and validate payroll inputs, including hours worked, overtime, leave balances, incentive payments, allowances, bonuses, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, social security requirements, and collective bargaining agreements.
Reconcile payroll reports and investigate payroll variances or discrepancies.
Coordinate month-end and year-end payroll activities, including statutory reporting and audits. - Compliance & Controls
Maintain payroll records in accordance with legal requirements and company retention policies.
Ensure appropriate payroll controls are in place to safeguard confidential associate information.
Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and reports.
Monitor legislative changes impacting payroll processes and recommend necessary updates. - Associate Support
Serve as the primary escalation point for payroll-related inquiries.
Provide professional and timely support to associates regarding payroll, taxation, benefits deductions, and leave payments.
Promote a positive associate experience through responsive and solution-oriented service. - Systems & Reporting
Maintain payroll and timekeeping systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Generate and analyze payroll metrics, reports, and dashboards for management review.
Partner with HR and Finance teams to support workforce planning and budgeting activities.
Participate in payroll system upgrades, testing, and process improvement initiatives. - Leadership
Supervise and coach payroll team members, ensuring adherence to service standards and operational objectives.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and associate care.
Develop standard operating procedures and ensure consistent execution across payroll activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 4 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
License or Certification: None
