As the Operational Excellence Director, your mission is to optimize the entire value chain, ensuring seamless delivery to customers while maximizing efficiency, quality, and performance across all operations.
Description
An effective OPEX Director should:
- Clearly understand and convey the company's value proposition to customers, ensuring alignment between operational efforts and customer expectations to maximise impact.
- Define strategic actions to enhance safety, streamline production planning and workflow, optimise stock management, improve quality indicators, reduce lead times, and elevate service levels.
- Drive initiatives to refine and standardise processes, procedures, and best practices, fostering consistent on-time performance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to identify operational challenges and develop structured roadmaps to address them.
- Utilise data-driven analysis to conduct root cause assessments and formulate targeted action plans.
- Oversee the execution, monitoring, and effectiveness of improvement initiatives, making necessary adjustments along the way.
- Ensure compliance with and maintenance of key management system certifications, including ISO14001 and ISO9001.
- Lead change management efforts by coaching teams, reinforcing process adherence, tracking key performance indicators, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement for operational excellence.
Profile
An ideal OPEX Director should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, supply chain and logistics, or related fields.
- Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing environments, including team leadership roles in operations, production or logistics.
- Strong analytical abilities to pinpoint issues, understand root causes, and evaluate the effects of corrective actions.
- Expertise in statistical and data analysis to identify root causes, solve problems, and guide objective decision-making.
- Proven project management capabilities to design clear corrective and preventive action plans, ensuring effective follow-up with relevant teams.
- A champion of change management, capable of driving transformation efforts to achieve top-tier safety, quality, cost, productivity, and service levels.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across all levels and functions within the organization.
- Proficiency in English (both spoken and written); knowledge of French is a plus.
