General Functions

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Auditor to ensure a seamless overnight operation at Vila Joya. This role combines discreet guest service with meticulous financial and operational responsibilities, guaranteeing the accuracy, calm, and continuity that define our standards of excellence.

As the primary point of contact during the night, the Night Auditor works independently with confidence and precision, supporting both guest needs and the transition into the following day.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

?    Handle overnight guest requests, calls, wake-up calls, and special needs with professionalism and discretion.

?    Maintain an atmosphere of calm, hospitality, and confidentiality throughout the night.

?    Provide clear communication to the morning teams through accurate handover notes regarding guest issues or requests.

Safety & Property Oversight

?    Serve as the main point of contact for any overnight incidents, ensuring guest comfort, and safety at all times.

?    Conduct periodic walkthroughs to monitor property areas, identifying any maintenance or security concerns and reporting them promptly.

?    Follow Vila Joya’s safety protocols and emergency procedures when necessary.

?    Uphold guest privacy and maintain the highest standard of discretion.

Reporting & Night Audit Duties

?    Complete all end-of-day audit procedures, balancing and reconciling transactions and revenue postings.

?    Verify the accuracy of room charges, payments, departmental postings, and guest folios.

?    Prepare all required nightly financial and operational reports for management.

?    Update the PMS and ensure all discrepancies are corrected before the start of the morning shift.

?    Document all relevant events in a clear, structured handover for operational continuity.

These responsibilities reflect the core of the position, while other duties may arise in response to the rhythm of the house, guest needs, or special events.

Perfil do Candidato

Our ideal candidate must possess:

?    Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in front-office operations, ideally in a luxury or boutique hotel.

?    Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.

?    Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail.

?    Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours.

?    Strong organizational capabilities and familiarity with hotel PMS or front-office software.

?    A calm, discreet, and service-oriented approach, always prioritizing guest comfort and accuracy.

?    Priority awareness and the ability to juggle many competing deadlines;

Applicants must already hold legal work authorization for Portugal, as we are unable to support visa or work-permit applications for this role.
