Were looking for a Network Engineer (IP & Optical Focus) to join a long-term project integrated in a specialized technical team responsible for the development and optimization of a national high-performance network infrastructure that supports academic and scientific communities.

What Youll Do
- Lead and actively participate in national and international networking projects;
- Perform on-site maintenance and diagnostics on optical fibre and L2/L3 IP equipment;
- Manage and monitor both the national optical fibre network and the high-speed transmission backbone;
- Plan, install and migrate switching and routing equipment across metro and national locations;
- Configure and troubleshoot IP equipment, ensuring high performance and SLA compliance;
- Plan and develop fibre networks at metro and national scale;
- Collaborate with service providers and partner institutions;
- Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation;
- Contribute to network automation and the adoption of innovative technologies.
Your Background
- Degree or MSc in Telecommunications, Electronics or Computer Engineering;
- Over 2 years of experience in optical network operation, transmission systems (WDM, OTN/G.709), and high-capacity IP infrastructures;
- Strong understanding of fibre network standards (ISO 11801, ITU-T G.65x) and connector systems;
- Proficient with tools such as OTDR, BERT, optical power meters, etc.;
- Solid knowledge of Ethernet technologies (STP, QinQ, LACP, LLDP, etc.);
- Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP) and QoS;
- Ability to configure routing and switching equipment (L2/L3);
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving in complex high-throughput networks;
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); team spirit and attention to detail.
Valued Skills
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or similar;
- Knowledge in network security;
- Experience with network automation and scripting/programming.
