About the Role

We are looking for an AI Engineer who thrives in a dynamic, high-performance environment. Key Responsibilities

• AI Engineering: Drive the development and deployment of AI solutions from conception to production, focusing on results, reliability, and consistency.
• Backend & Systems Development: Design, build, and optimize backend systems and architectures that power AI applications, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities seamlessly into the platform.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure AI models and the systems supporting them are performant, reliable, and scalable.
• Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable code and uphold high engineering standards through peer reviews.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in ML/AI engineering, with demonstrated expertise bringing AI to production, deployment, and monitoring-or alternatively, a top student from a leading engineering school (e.g., Technical University of Lisbon).
• Experience with AI stack tools, including Langchain, Llama Index, Pydantic-ai, Observability Platforms (e.g., Langfuse), Evaluation Frameworks (e.g., DeepEval), Guardrails (Vertex/Bedrock or open-source solutions), PII removal frameworks (e.g., Presidio), RAG, Vector Stores, Knowledge Graphs, and ML/DL libraries (e.g., sklearn, torch).
• Strong product-oriented mindset with an interest in the interaction between humans and machines, specifically focused on enhancing user capabilities through AI.
• Strong programming skills, especially in Python, with substantial experience in Docker, Postgres, Redis, SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, and Pydantic. Versatility in other programming languages is highly valued.
• Proven ability to design and implement robust, scalable systems, demonstrating a solid understanding of architecture principles and distributed systems.
• High-performance mindset with a consistent track record of delivering results in fast-paced, high-output environments.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills to debug, optimize, and enhance AI applications and infrastructure for maximum performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to teamwork.

Bonus Points

• Experience or interest in full-stack development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for managing scalable deployments.
