We are looking for a Data Operations Engineer to join our Client's team on a hybrid working model from Lisbon.


Key Responsibilities:

Data Pipeline Operations:

  • Manage and maintain Linux-based data pipelines to ensure the efficient and accurate flow of data.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automating data processing, transformation, and loading.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data workflows and enhance data quality.

Job Scheduling and Release Management:

  • Create, schedule, and manage jobs in Control-M for timely data processing and delivery.
  • Assist the planning team in executing releases while ensuring minimal disruption to data operations.
  • Monitor job execution, analyze logs, and troubleshoot failures to maintain data integrity.

Incident Management:

  • Proactively identify and resolve data-related incidents, minimizing the impact on operations and stakeholders.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences of issues.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and forward-looking lessons to support continuous improvement efforts.

Data Management:

  • Manage databases, execute queries, and troubleshoot connectivity or integration challenges.
  • Collaborate with analysts and engineers to reinforce data governance practices.
  • Develop and maintain data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity in all workflows.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mandatory Skills:
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Data Analytics or Operations.
  • Depth of expertise in Linux system administration, scripting (e.g., shell scripting), and data management.
  • Proven experience with job scheduling and release management tools, particularly Control-M.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong analytical capabilities for troubleshooting and optimizing data-related issues.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and basic knowledge of Ab Initio principles is a plus.
  • Experience working with mainframe systems for data transfer and integration is an advantage.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving and adaptability to handle evolving data workflows and priorities.
