Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Trainee to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience and contribute to various legal aspects of our operations, including contracts, risk assessment and GDPR compliance.
Description
Reporting to the Legal & Risk Manager your main responsibilities will be:
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts, including: Supplier and vendor agreements, Customer contracts (civil, commercial and public tenders), Sales and purchase agreements, Distribution agreements, Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), Consulting and service agreements, Research and collaboration agreements;
Ensure that all contracts comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Support the legal team in ensuring adherence to GDPR and other data protection laws;
Assist with data protection impact assessments and maintaining records of processing activities;
Assist in the preparation of public tender documents;
Ensure compliance with public procurement laws and regulations;
Provide legal support for projects aimed at implementing new directives and regulations;
Conduct legal research and prepare reports or memos summarising findings and implications.
Support the maintenance and organisation of the contract management system;
Assist in tracking contract deadlines, renewals, and terminations;
Assist with various administrative tasks, including filing, document management, and maintaining legal databases;
Provide general support to the legal team as needed.
Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
BA Degree in Law;
Admitted to the Bar is a plus;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Basic understanding of GDPR and public procurement laws is a plus;
English (oral and writing) is mandatory;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced legal setting;
High level of integrity and professionalism;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
