Our client is a multinational company in the industrial sector, seeking to hire a Legal Manager (m/f/d) for their Lisbon offices.
Your New Role
As a Legal Manager, reporting directly to the General Manager in Portugal, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with regulations affecting any of the Business Units (BUs) and departments of the company.
- Providing legal advice to various BUs and departments.
- Preparing, reviewing, and updating records and accounting books, as well as corporate records of the legal entity.
- Drafting and negotiating all commercial contracts, including national and international agreements (distribution contracts, sales and purchase agreements, service provisions, leasing, logistics, sponsorships, agency agreements, etc.).
- Assisting in commercial operations and managing legal disputes, including judicial and arbitration procedures.
- Conducting analysis and monitoring regulations applicable in Portugal regarding commercial, operational, and corporate matters, ensuring compliance with legal obligations.
- Advising on the company’s structure and potential modifications to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Analysing and managing risks to minimise their impact and prevent criminal liability.
- Taking on the responsibilities of compliance officer, data protection coordinator, and regulatory affairs.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Master’s in Corporate Law or Business Law (preferred).
- Approximately 5 years of proven experience, post-Bar Association exam, with similar responsibilities in a company.
- Fluency in English.
- A self-driven, communicative, team-oriented nature with the ability to build effective teams, demonstrate leadership competencies, and be proactive.
