The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing strong relationships with Retailers & Producers, connecting with key business executives, and stakeholders to further develop the company market position.
Responsible to answer client queries and identify new business opportunities among existing customers; to liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Sales Support, Supply Chain, and Product Development departments).
Description
Reporting to the Iberia Commercial Director, will be responsible for:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships;
Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits;
Ensure renewal of existing contracts within the portfolio of accounts;
Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors;
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives;
Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders;
Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas (New Market Verticals, Supply Chain collaborations, etc.);
Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts);
Collaborate with the field team to identify and grow opportunities within territory (DC visits, assortment analysis, growers' visits);
Ensure the appropriate visibility in terms of sales activities and opportunities adopting the company CRM (Salesforce) as required;
Meeting strategic targets (nr. and volume of growth opportunities in Salesforce (SF)/ nr. of blue sheets for contract renewals; nr. of visits to retail DCs / shops in SF, nr. of updates of supplier lists in SF, conversion ratio in SF, nr. of won opportunities in SF).
Profile
Bachelor, MBA, or other postgraduate qualification;
Experience in Sales/Business Development - Knowledge of Fresh produce and Food sector;
Experience in strategy development and generating/building relationships with clients and suppliers;
Knowledge of working with a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce);
Multicultural experience;
Pooled assets and logistics business model experience;
Project Management experience;
Experience in fast paced environment, Retail, 3PL or start-up projects;
Proactive and self-motivated;
Strong commercial ability and enhanced presentation, negotiation, and communication skills - both written & oral;
Ability to "close the deal" and achieve a sustainable win-win outcome;
Ability to multitask and make quick decisions using own judgement with limited information;
Strategically agile: deal with complex issues using analytical abilities; problem solving skills;
Fluent in English.
