We are looking for a Java Developer (Mid / Mid+ / Senior) to join our Client's team on a hybrid working model from Lisbon, Porto, or Braga.

? Important note:

Although this position targets Java developers, the day-to-day work will focus primarily on Guidewire and Gosu, which are new technologies built within the Java ecosystem.

Strong Java and backend fundamentals are essential, as they are the foundation for working effectively with Guidewire solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Guidewire-based insurance applications using Gosu
• Apply strong Java and backend engineering principles to implement business logic, workflows, and integrations
• Configure and extend Guidewire modules according to technical and business requirements
• Design, build, and consume RESTful APIs and integrations with external systems
• Work with distributed systems and enterprise architectures in complex environments
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and design to deployment and support
• Collaborate with international and cross-functional teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement by proposing best practices, tools, and architectural enhancements

Required Qualifications

• Mid, Mid+ or Senior-level experience as a Java Developer
• Strong background in Java development and backend engineering fundamentals
• Experience with Spring Boot, microservices, or enterprise Java architectures (highly valued)
• Experience with Guidewire and/or Gosu is a plus, but not necessary (training will be provided)
• English and Portuguese proficiency at B2 level or higher
• Availability to work in a hybrid model (3 days per week on-site) in Lisbon, Porto, or Braga

Solid understanding of:

• Object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Integration patterns and API-based communication
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases
