Job title:                                          IT Supervisor

Reports directly to:                       Director of Operation

 

Overall Job Purpose

 

The IT Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the IT department's staff, systems, and projects. This role ensures the reliable operation of all technology infrastructure, provides effective technical support to the organization, and helps implement IT strategies aligned with overall business objectives.

 

Qualifications & Skills

·        Strong technical proficiency across various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), network topologies, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).

·        Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

·        Proven ability to manage projects and balance multiple priorities under pressure.

·        Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a strong asset.

·        Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are preferred.

 

Candidate profile

Education and Experience

 

·        3+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration.

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

·        Supervise and mentor a team of IT specialists, technicians, and/or analysts.

·        Conduct performance reviews, training, and professional development for team members.

·        Schedule work assignments and manage on-call rotations to ensure continuous support coverage.

·        Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, such as system upgrades, hardware refreshes, and new software implementation.

·        Develop and maintain IT operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.

·        Contribute to the development of the IT department's budget and track expenditures.

·        Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all IT infrastructure, including servers, network hardware

·        Manage the service/help desk function, serving as a primary escalation point for complex or critical technical issues, and ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.

·        Plan and coordinate system upgrades, maintenance windows, and disaster recovery testing.
