We are seeking an experienced Hotel HR Manager to join a well-established hospitality operation in Albufeira, Portugal. The ideal candidate must be currently based in Portugal and come strictly from a hotel/hospitality background. This role will oversee all human resources functions and support hotel leadership in driving a strong people culture and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end HR operations for the hotel, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention
- Partner with hotel management to support workforce planning and staffing requirements
- Ensure full compliance with Portuguese labour laws and hospitality regulations
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary procedures
- Manage payroll coordination, contracts, benefits, and HR documentation
- Lead training and development initiatives aligned with hotel service standards
- Support pre-opening or seasonal workforce ramp-up if required
- Foster a positive workplace culture and high employee engagement
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as an HR Manager within a hotel or hospitality environment (mandatory)
- Currently based in Portugal (mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of Portuguese employment law
- Experience working with seasonal staffing models is an advantage
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Fluent in Portuguese and English (additional languages are a plus)
- Strong organisational and people-management skills
