Multinational in the Energy Sector is currently looking to hire a Head of Trading and Origination for their operations in Portugal.

Description

• Analyze local power market to identify key market trends
• Follow the company's power strategy, management team and key advisors including, but not limited to, energy procurement, storage strategies, backup strategies, energy sales, etc.
• Involvement on the development and negotiation of power products that comply with regulatory framework
• Comply with the organization's power strategy goals, e.g. physical trades, financial swaps, renewable energy communities, etc.
• Keep up to date with current events, news, projects and critical issues relating to power
• Involvement on the negotiation of commercial contracts with energy providers and agents
• Engage with design and engineering teams on behind the meter solutions and other energy related projects
• Collaborate with other teams to identify, develop and implement energy efficiency initiatives
• Create and provide reports on organizational KPIs such as sustainability and cost goals

Profile

• Extensive experience of renewable certificate and wholesale energy markets and trading gained through a front office position at a utility, energy trading house or similar institution;
• Track record of successfully transacting structured energy products (e.g. market access agreements, power purchase agreements, optimisation agreements, tolling agreements and options);
• Experience of the full deal life cycle - originating, structuring and executing.
• Extensive and current Iberian market knowledge (e.g. market participants, market fundamentals, price and volatility trends, current key value opportunities);
• Extensive client network in the Iberian power and gas markets;
• Experience of setting up new products and markets;
• A broad knowledge of optionality, flexibility, credit arrangements and structured products.
