About us

We know that cinema is best when it's shared! Black Cat reimagines the movie-going experience as a chance to connect, build memories, and invest time in the people close to us. We're on a mission to make the cinema your favourite night out.

We've hosted 250+ shows, welcomed over 50,000 visitors, and inhabited some of this city's most enigmatic locations. And, crucially, we've welcomed some amazing people onto our team - People with the skills, energy and enthusiasm that make our events come alive!

In coming years, we'll reach new markets, create new partnerships, and further redefine how Portugal sees nights at the cinema! And that means building the systems and teams that allow us to scale without losing what makes our events special.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a senior Head of Production & Operations to take ownership of how our events are delivered. Someone with a strong professional background leading project planning and execution, and with an understanding of company growth. And, most definitely, someone who is passionate about creating amazing experiences, and wants to grow with us as we expand.

If that sounds like you, then we want to hear from you!

What you'll achieve at Black Cat

  • You'll own the end-to-end delivery of our events. From planning and pre-production, through to monitoring the final delivery and post production.
  • You'll lead and develop a production team, including hiring, mentoring, and supporting junior producers and field teams.
  • You'll ensure quality standards are met, and be the lead operator who pushes production standards higher.
  • You'll manage production budgets, suppliers, and resources, making smart trade-offs to deliver great experiences sustainably.
  • You'll work closely with venues, municipalities, partners, and suppliers.
  • Alongside other key team-members, you'll take an active role in expansion and development plans.
  • You'll be a key contributor of ideas that improve how we work, what we offer, and how we collaborate.

Essential requirements. We'd love to talk to you if you are:

  • A leader who enjoys working closely with people and leading by example.
  • A professional, with strong experience in project management and events or in-person experiences.
  • Comfortable thinking strategically, while remaining focussed on delivery and results.
  • Customer oriented: With a keen eye for what takes a product experience from "great" to "outstanding."
  • A team builder, with strong experience of hiring, mentoring, and managing.
  • Experienced in contributing to projects' expansion and growth.
  • Agile: You're comfortable adapting to new situations.
  • Proficient in English and Portuguese.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience dealing with public entities.
  • Well-networked.
  • Experience of corporate or institutional event partnerships, and brand activations.
