Introduction to the Position

Our client, a leading company in the data engineering field, is looking to hire a Freelance Data Engineer based in Lisbon. This is a freelance/contract position offering an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, international environment. The focus will be on integrating data from billing, payroll, and customer systems, where you'll play a key role in building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data infrastructure. If you have experience with modern data technologies and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative setting, this position could be a great fit for you.

Your Responsibilities

• Integrate data from various systems, including billing, payroll, and customer management
• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and processing
• Develop and optimize data infrastructure using Databricks, including Spark, Delta tables, and Unity Catalog
• Work with APIs to extract and transform data from different sources
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and integration
• Support the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and methodologies

Desired Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in integrating billing, payroll, and customer systems
• Strong knowledge of Databricks, Spark, Delta tables, and Unity Catalog
• Hands-on experience with APIs and integrating data from different sources
• Proficiency in designing and maintaining ETL pipelines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Prior experience in a hybrid work model is an advantage
