About the Role:


At emagine Portugal we're currently looking for a FinOps Consultant, to be a key player in driving cloud financial management excellence within one of our client's Cloud Broker team.

You will support a specific product family while also contributing to central governance and consulting initiatives.

Your main focus will be implementing and optimizing FinOps best practices, enabling transparent cloud usage, cost control, and proactive financial optimization across cloud environments. So, this role involves combining financial acumen with cloud technology understanding.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Establishing and managing cloud financial practices (budgeting, forecasting, showback/chargeback, and cost optimization).
  • Defining and enforcing financial policies and controls for cloud operations.
  • Monitoring and reporting on cloud usage, cost trends, and performance indicators.
  • Collaborating with Product and Technical teams to improve cloud cost efficiency without compromising reliability or performance.
  • Designing and maintaining a holistic FinOps framework across multiple product domains.
  • Promoting and propagating FinOps best practices across the organization.
  • Participating in audits and governance reviews to ensure financial transparency and accountability in cloud operations.


Key Requirements:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, or Cloud Operations.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), including certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals).
  • Familiarity with cloud provider billing and cost optimization tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Cloudability, or CloudHealth.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures and the ability to interpret usage data and technical metrics.
  • Experience working with budgeting and forecasting tools for IT or cloud spend.
  • Knowledge of IT asset management, cost accounting, or financial governance is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise between technical teams and finance stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory); French is a plus.
