Elementis is establishing a new office and modern laboratory in Porto, Portugal. They offer exciting roles in Research & Development, Human Resources, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service, Regulatory/Product Stewardship, Sales & Marketing, providing a diverse range of opportunities to grow and make an impact. Most of the roles are regional or global.

 

The Global Logistics Manager establishes and executes projects under the Logistics Management Program to meet supply chain performance and the associated financial goals. It also manages the Global Logistics Visibility tool and supports the regional supply chain management team to implement all logistics activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and distribution of company products and materials 

 

Your new role 

 

Planning, reporting, analysing and supporting decision-making:

  • You deliver a standard approach to reporting, including the preparation of Business Unit P&L’s for Actuals, Plan & Forecast, and monthly reporting package generation.  
  • You support in the preparation of the reports for the Performance Management of the Functions (HR, IT, Legal, Finance, R&D).
  • You support the Performance Managers in analysing and presenting financial reports in an accurate and timely manner for Actuals, Forecast, Annual and Three-Year Plan.
  • You manage the Elementis capex approval process in co-ordination with other key stakeholders (e.g. Global Supply Chain). You are the owner of the global capex reporting system (Finario) to ensure integrity of recorded amounts and proper accounting of capital projects. 
  • You ensure financials have been reported in a consistent, accurate and timely manner.
  • You support the development of financial and non-financial key performance indicators/metrics and the appropriate reports to assess financial and operational performance across the business (e.g. working capital).

Process improvements and data transformation:

  • You propose improvements in the financial management activities, including the development and implementation of financial planning and reporting (including in IT systems, automation or processes). 
  • You develop and implement analytical tools, such as: price, mix, profitability trends (customer, product and plant), other productivity opportunities.
  • You participate in other finance and business projects as needed.

Championing Finance ways of working and driving adoption of tools/process:

  • You are the designated super-user in the Performance Management team for the use of planning, reporting, visualization and analysing tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and Capex system (Finario); this will involve training other colleagues in using these tools and be the first port of call for questions within your function.
  • You are also expected to champion the use of these tools among colleagues, driving education on their use, self-use and self-analysis.

Best Practice and Compliance

  • You ensure that your Finance activities are within the limits of good practice and applicable regulations. 
  • You ensure data is handled, transferred, or processed according to secure, legal and company guidelines.
  • You support and contribute to the Performance Management process to share learnings and solutions across the lines of business. 
  • You help drive a data-driven performance culture and ensure company data management governance procedures are followed.

 

What you’ll need to succeed 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 2 years+ posta accounting qualification experience in affecting culture charge and toou/process adoption
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and good knowledge with JD Edwards would be an advantage
  • Verbal and written fluency in English


This position will have an hybrid regime with a minimum of 3 days in the office. Whilst this role will be based at the Porto Hub, there will be occasions where you may be required to travel to other Elementis sites
