Elementis is establishing a new office and modern laboratory in Porto, Portugal. Your New Role

The ESG specialist role is responsible for making complete and accurate ESG disclosures to 3rd party non-regulatory frameworks (such as Ecovadis, CDP, FTSE4Good) and supporting the Group in meeting regulated disclosures, especially for the UK and EU. Rigorous, factual, and complete disclosures result in representative ratings, indicate areas for strategic improvement, and enhance our reputation with investors and customers. The role is part-time and reports to the Global Sustainability Director. 


As an ESG Specialist you will be responsible for:

  • Project manage our disclosure activities for each framework, engaging across the business with leaders, specialists, and data owners to gather information. You monitor and prepare for changes in the framework requirements;
  • Develop processes for improving our disclosure practices, identifying process improvements for engaging internally and understanding how well our previous disclosures met framework assessment requirements;
  • Identify and recommend actions for the business that could lower our ESG risks, create more positive impacts, or improve data monitoring. You contribute to decisions on any changes to service level we subscribe to;
  • Execute and improve key internal processes for regulatory disclosures, such as those related to our climate change scenario risk analysis;
  • Leverage your network across the business, with framework providers, and with external partners to identify best practices, resolve ambiguities, and ensure continuous improvement in disclosure quality;
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, oversee project timelines and resources to deliver successful outcomes;
  • Communicate the impact of disclosure to cross-functional teams to create engagement and proactivity regarding disclosure and transparency. 


What you will need to be succeed

  • Professional sustainability qualifications / certifications;
  • 5 years + relevant experience in Professional Sustainability;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.);
  • Fluency in English - verbal and written;


What the Company can Offer you

This position will have an hybrid regime with a minimum of 3 days in the office. Whilst this role will be based at the Porto Hub, there will be occasions where you may be required to travel to other Elementis sites.
