We are seeking a highly qualified Environmental/Social Project Manager (M/F) with a strong academic background and extensive hands-on experience in projects both in Portugal and internationally. The ideal candidate stands out for their ability to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to complex environmental challenges and is committed to environmental protection and the promotion of responsible business practices. Availability to travel regularly is essential.



Responsibilities:


  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop detailed plans including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation; ensure alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Resource Management: Identify and allocate necessary resources (personnel, equipment, budget) for project execution; manage and optimize resource utilization throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead, motivate, and coordinate project teams; assign tasks and responsibilities; foster effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies; monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle; implement contingency plans when necessary.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets; monitor expenses and ensure cost control; report financial status to stakeholders and adjust plans as needed to stay within budget.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders; provide regular updates and status reports; promptly address stakeholder concerns and feedback.
  • Quality Assurance and Environmental Compliance: Define and implement quality standards; ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements; monitor deliverables and conduct audits as needed.
  • Scope Management: Manage changes to project scope; ensure all changes are documented and approved by stakeholders; prevent scope creep through a clear and controlled change management process.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track project performance against the plan using appropriate metrics and tools; prepare and present progress reports, performance dashboards, and project documentation; conduct post-project reviews and evaluations.



Profile:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field;
  • Proven experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and/or environmental permitting;
  • More than 8 years of experience in similar roles;
  • Advanced proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus);
  • Additional training in the application of international standards is highly valued.
