Position: Embedded Linux Systems Engineer

Location: Lisbon/Hybrid

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop and adapt device drivers, configure networking, and generate OS images for embedded devices.
• Port Linux-based operating systems to custom embedded platforms (ARM / PowerPC).
• Take part in the full development lifecycle: from design to implementation and testing.
• Contribute to exciting R&D projects in a technically strong and motivated team.

What We're Looking For (Must-Haves):

• Strong experience with Linux development in both user and kernel space.
• Solid knowledge of device drivers and the Linux Preempt-RT patch.
• Hands-on experience with Yocto or OpenEmbedded for image generation.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming.
• Understanding of networking protocols and topologies.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and a passion for continuous learning.
• Self-motivated, organized, and team-oriented.

Nice to have:

• Experience with cross-compilation and build tools (GCC, toolchains).
• Familiarity with RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.).
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices: secure protocols, certificates, OpenSSH, TPM, firewalls, etc.
• Experience in networking (Layer 2/3), synchronization (IEEE 1588v2/PTP), and real-time systems.
• Exposure to virtualization technologies (Docker, KVM).
• Understanding of hardware/electronics and use of lab instrumentation.
• Experience with version control tools (Git, SVN).
• Fluent in English.
