Job Description: FAMEL is seeking a passionate, proactive and adaptable Embedded Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of embedded systems for our electric motorcycles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. This is a great opportunity for someone that wants to build something unique from the start and is not bound to a unique function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development and testing of embedded software into our custom-made hardware for electric motorcycles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded systems into our custom-made hardware with other vehicle components.
• Debugging and troubleshooting to resolve system issues.
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
• Debug system-level issues across multiple stack layers, from kernel to application and drive firmware/software code optimizations.
• Develop and maintain Yocto Project-based Linux distributions.
• Customize existing Yocto layers, device-trees, implement drivers and system configurations.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Software Engineering or similar.
• Excellent understanding of embedded systems design and development.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, UART, I2C).
• Proficient in Python or C/C++.
• Familiar with version control systems (Git).
• At least 4 years of previous experience in developing firmware to custom-made hardware.
• Understanding of real-time embedded systems and OS (e.g., Embedded Linux, Raspbian, Yocto-based OS, Zephyr).
• Experience with Docker containers and Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
• Experience with wireless communication systems (ie.: mqtt, http requests )
• Ability to debug PCBA issues.
• Basic understanding of wiring and electronics diagrams.
