We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Vessel Operator to take full responsibility for the end-to-end management and risk control of operated dry bulk vessels. This role requires strong coordination with internal and external stakeholders, a deep understanding of voyage execution, and the ability to drive operational efficiency and profitability.


Key responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects of Time Charter vessel operations from pre-fixture to post-voyage, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vessel owners, masters, charterers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Handle post-fixture activities, including monitoring voyage progress, managing claims, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Optimize stowage plans and ensure holds are maintained to the required standards, applying strong technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate closely with the bunker desk to plan and optimize bunkering operations for cost and efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage vessel performance with the support of routing and performance service providers.
  • Track voyage Profit & Loss (P&L), analyze variances, and provide insights to maximize profitability.
  • Interpret and apply charter party contracts relevant to assigned trade routes, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Understand and manage legal risks, including Bills of Lading and Letters of Indemnity (LOIs).
  • Conduct post-voyage analysis to identify improvement areas and lessons learned.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including customers and vendors.
  • Foster effective collaboration with the Commercial team and contribute to cross-desk freight platform initiatives.


Key requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating Time Charter dry bulk vessels.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with customers and suppliers in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of macroeconomic trends and trade flows affecting dry bulk logistics.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and relevant shipping/operations systems.
  • Strong ownership mindset, team player, and effective collaborator.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Skilled in negotiation and dispute resolution.
  • Solid analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity with a strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
