Role Overview
The Director of Insurance is a senior leadership role responsible for building and scaling a regulated embedded insurance offering across the company's global travel and e-commerce platform. This individual will play a central role in positioning insurance as a valuable, integrated product within the customer journey.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the company's global insurance strategy, embedding insurance within the core customer experience
- Own the full insurance value chain including underwriting, pricing, distribution, claims, and customer support
- Develop compliant, modular insurance products tailored to travel and mobility, in partnership with Product and Tech
- Serve as the regulated person in relevant markets, overseeing governance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions
- Lead relationships with carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and brokers to secure capacity and ensure delivery
- Implement measurable performance frameworks and leverage data to iterate products and improve outcomes
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Legal, Support, and Finance teams to deliver scalable execution
Your profile
- Experience in management consulting and strategic insurance roles across digital or high-growth businesses
- Experience launching and scaling regulated insurance propositions across multiple geographies
- In-depth knowledge of travel, personal lines, or P&C insurance with a strong product and regulatory foundation
- Proven track record managing underwriting relationships and negotiating insurance agreements
- Comfortable leading across matrix teams in fast-paced, international environments
- Holds regulatory standing or ability to serve as a licensed responsible person (e.g. FCA, AFM, MFSA)
