Desktop Support / Security Engineer - Lisbon (Hybrid)

I'm looking for a technically curious and security-minded Desktop Support Engineer to join a growing international team in Lisbon. This is with a well-established Financial Services client, and the role has plenty of scope to grow - particularly for someone looking to transition into Security Engineering over time.

You'll be working on core desktop support, but with a strong focus on patching, endpoint security, and gaining exposure to areas like firewalls, threat detection tools, and vulnerability management.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting a global user base in a secure Windows desktop environment
• Handling tickets and troubleshooting issues with speed, care, and professionalism
• Managing critical patching across desktops and core business applications - this is a key priority
• Working with tools like Intune, Office 365, Active Directory, and possibly endpoint protection platforms
• Assisting in monitoring and maintaining endpoint and light server security controls
• Collaborating with infrastructure/security teams on issues like firewall rule enforcement, policy compliance, and basic remediation tasks

? What you need to bring:

• Strong experience in desktop support in a corporate/multi-national setting
• Proven ability to manage patch cycles and react quickly to vulnerabilities or business-critical updates
• Basic understanding of security principles - e.g., least privilege, malware prevention, secure access
• Exposure to endpoint tools like Intune, AV/EDR platforms, or even basic firewall configurations is a big plus
• Hands-on with Windows 10/11, Office 365, Active Directory
• Confident with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, etc.
• Clear communicator in English, able to support international teams effectively
• You must have valid work rights in Portugal
