Your New Mission

• Develop and implement cutting-edge algorithms and models tailored to the domain of large language models (LLMs). 
• Create advanced AI-driven functionalities in areas such as decision-making support, mission planning, and workflow automation. 
• Train large-scale language models on extensive text corpora, focusing on optimising performance, accuracy, and efficiency. 
• Execute preprocessing tasks including tokenization, stemming, lemmatisation, and normalization to ensure high-quality training and evaluation datasets. 
• Continuously explore emerging trends and breakthroughs in NLP and LLMs, integrating novel methods to enhance current models and develop innovative solutions. 
• Partner with data engineers, software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful AI solutions.
• Assess model performance using relevant metrics and evaluation techniques, iterating to refine accuracy and computational efficiency.
• Work alongside engineering teams to deploy models in production environments, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
• Maintain detailed documentation of models, algorithms, workflows, and processes to support reproducibility and future development.

What You Need To Succeed 

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline is required. A Ph.D. is considered an advantage. 
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in data science, particularly in natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs).

• Proficient in Python, with solid experience using NLP tools and frameworks such as NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, GPT-3/GPT-4, and LLaMA.
• Skilled in machine learning libraries including TensorFlow, TensorRT, PyTorch, and Keras.
• Strong background in data preprocessing and preparation techniques.
• In-depth understanding of deep learning models for NLP, including transformers, RNNs, and CNNs.
• Proven experience in training and fine-tuning LLMs, as well as developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Comfortable working with experimentation tools like Jupyter Notebooks.
• Familiar with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), with a preference for Google Cloud’s AI services.
• Experience deploying self-hosted large language models.
• Basic understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including GIT, CI/CD pipelines, telemetry, and monitoring.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, with a talent for crafting innovative solutions to complex challenges. 
• Familiarity with AI ethics, fairness, and bias mitigation strategies, especially in the context of NLP and LLMs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences. 
• Fluent in both Portuguese and English, with demonstrated C2-level proficiency in each.
• Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and collaborative environments. 
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring high standards of accuracy and quality in all deliverables. 
• Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
