We are seeking a Data Engineer to help us expand our real-time football data infrastructure.

Job Description:

As a Data Engineer, you will own the ingestion and processing of key football-related data streams - including match scores, social media content, and highlight clips. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams to structure, clean, and deliver reliable data pipelines that power our fan experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Design and manage data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Integrate and normalize feeds from APIs (e.g., scores, Reddit, Twitter, YouTube)
• Build scalable ETL workflows and storage solutions for live and historical data
• Monitor and ensure data integrity, freshness, and reliability
• Collaborate with AI/ML, frontend, and backend teams to enable product features

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or infrastructure roles
• Proficiency with Python and data pipeline frameworks (Airflow, DBT, etc
• Experience with streaming and batch systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Spark)
• Comfortable with both structured (SQL) and unstructured (JSON, media) data
• Familiarity with cloud data infrastructure (AWS/GCP/BigQuery/S3)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with sports or media data sources
• Comfort working with APIs, scrapers, and third-party data vendors
• Strong focus on data quality and long-term maintainability
