We are currently hiring for a prestigious Global Banking Institution with strong European roots and active operations in Portugal. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the team in Porto.

Mission of the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing data schemas, modelling data structures, performing migrations, and managing high-performance data systems. You will also contribute to the overall data infrastructure and support ongoing improvement initiatives across data platforms.

Main Tasks of the Role

• Design and implement efficient, scalable data pipelines.
• Model robust and high-performance data structures to support analytics and reporting.
• Perform data migrations and infrastructure improvements.
• Monitor database performance and ensure system reliability.
• Automate the deployment of artifacts across various environments.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate on best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 5+ years in IT or Data Analytics, preferably within a financial institution.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong Python programming skills
• Experience with Power BI for data visualization

Languages: Advanced level in English

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear and effective communication (oral and written)
• Results-driven with attention to detail
• Ability to simplify complex issues
• Strong understanding of IT architecture
• Experience in bridging business and IT requirements
