Role: Data Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a Data Engineer with 3-4 years of experience to help build and implement our educational data hub. This foundational platform will power our AI-driven product roadmap, enabling model fine-tuning, personalized learning recommendations, and predictive learning pathways. The ideal candidate will work closely with our AI and product teams to create scalable data infrastructure that transforms educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines that support model training/fine-tuning workflows
• Build data streams that capture learner journeys and interactions for recommendation engines
• Develop data structures optimized for predictive analytics on learning behaviors and outcomes
• Create efficient ETL processes that transform educational content into model-ready formats
• Implement data storage solutions that support both public and private content processing
• Collaborate with AI engineers to optimize data accessibility for personalization algorithms
• Support the development of analytics frameworks for measuring learning pathway effectiveness
• Help establish data governance practices that ensure security and compliance across educational sectors

Required Qualifications

• 3-4 years of professional experience in data engineering roles
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Experience with data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar)
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data processing libraries
• Knowledge of ETL design patterns and best practices
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques
• Experience with version control systems (Git)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks)
• Familiarity with vector databases and embedding storage solutions
• Knowledge of data structures that support machine learning workflows
• Experience with recommendation systems and personalization engines
• Understanding of educational data models and learning analytics
• Experience working with predictive modeling data requirements
• Knowledge of data security requirements in educational contexts

Compensation

• Salary range: €40,000 - €60,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
