What do you need to be a SMART DATA ENGINEER?
A degree in Computer Science, Informatics Engineering or similar
4-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer - mid to senior level
Strong hands-on expertise with Spark & Scala
Solid command of SQL for Big Data - think massive datasets
Familiarity with Unix and writing clean shell scripts
Knowledge of Python and PySpark is a big plus
Fluent English (mandatory), French is a nice-to-have
What will you be doing at SMART?
You'll be joining a cross-border project team with our partners in Porto and Paris, working on scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that isn't just cloud-based - we're keeping it real with on-premises systems too.
- Build and optimize big data processing flows
- Maintain robust, scalable infrastructure with Spark/Scala
- Collaborate across borders - from Porto to Paris
- Apply your creativity and logic to solve complex data problems
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and DevOps engineers
- Drive best practices and automation in a hybrid environment
