Descrição da Função

Challenge yourself and us

At AdvanceWorks, we learn, grow, and have fun together. And we do all this while creating great software solutions for clients across many industries and geographies.

We are constantly challenging ourselves and each other to use the latest technologies and the best methodologies and make sure we walk the talk.

Exciting as it may sound, we also have our red lines: each of us is a unique person, with unique opinions, beliefs, options, interests, hopes, and fears. With the right to speak its mind, be mindful of the common goals, and always be constructive.

The way we respect each other, discuss different points of view, and challenge ourselves and each other while tackling our common challenges makes us strong. United. Brave. And sure that there will be a better tomorrow, even when we do mistakes. Because we learn from our failures and successes.

What will be your role

We are looking for a Data Architect to join our team in a hybrid role for a strategic project in the banking sector.

This role will focus on designing and maintaining robust data models, establishing clear data governance frameworks, and leading the use of Databricks to enable a scalable and future-proof data architecture. You'll provide strategic and technical direction, ensuring that the data architecture aligns with business needs and supports advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making by:

  • Designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models tailored to the complexity and regulatory needs of the banking domain
  • Leading the implementation of scalable data solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Spark
  • Establishing and enforcing standards and best practices for data modeling, quality, and lifecycle management
  • Collaborating closely with data engineers and business analysts to define data domain boundaries and integration points
  • Implementing ELT pipelines and orchestrating data ingestion from structured and semi-structured sources
  • Ensuring that architecture decisions consider security, scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Providing architectural oversight and mentoring to junior engineers and analysts
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement by researching and introducing new tools, frameworks, and practices
  • Supporting business teams in understanding the data landscape and fostering a data-driven culture

Who will work by your side?

You'll be working on a collaborative and cross-functional team delivering strategic data initiatives for a major banking client. Alongside the AdvanceWorks team, you'll have a support network of technology experts, architects, and passionate individuals who will listen to you, challenge your thinking, and help you thrive both professionally and personally.

We value curiosity, resilience, and teamwork-and we believe in enjoying what we do together. Expect collaboration, feedback, and maybe even a virtual beer at the end of the week.

What should you bring to the team?

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data models for analytical and operational purposes
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and distributed data processing (Spark, Delta Lake)
  • Solid experience in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred)
  • Deep understanding of data warehouse/lakehouse architecture and data modeling techniques (3NF, dimensional, Data Vault)
  • Experience with modern data platforms, such as Azure Data Services, Snowflake, or similar
  • Experience in designing and enforcing data governance and data quality frameworks
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
  • Fluency in English (Portuguese is a plus)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model

If you're passionate about data, architecture, and delivering value through intelligent design in a dynamic banking context, we'd love to meet you.

Let's build something meaningful together.
