Airbus Atlantic Portugal is currently recruiting for its site in Santo Tirso - Porto. To reinforce the AAOS Department, we have one opportunity to integrate the team as AAOS Manager (Continuous Improvement Manager). The position will report directly to the HO Production.

 

MAIN TASKS AND MISSION

  • Strategy & Roadmap Define, deploy, and monitor the annual Site AAOS Roadmap and maturity targets with the Site Management Committee, ensuring alignment with plant objectives and central strategy.
  • Team Leadership Lead and develop the site AAOS team, ensuring optimal resource allocation, capability building, and structured coaching.
  • Governance & Routines Establish and animate site-level governance (Steering Committees, performance dialogues) with executive leaders, tracking and reporting maturity and performance KPIs to local and central leadership.
  • Standards & Methodology Oversee the deployment of AAOS bricks and standardized management routines across all UAPs and support functions.
  • Change Management & Culture Drive cultural transformation toward operational excellence, empowering teams and coaching First Line Managers (FLMs) and Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs) on Lean leadership.
  • Performance & Maturity Assessments Conduct and organize formal internal and cross-site industrial assessments, audit standard execution, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective action plans.
  • Benchmark & Network Represent the site in the central AAOS network, benchmark best practices, drive harmonization, and contribute to global Airbus Atlantic standards.

PROFILE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent industrial background.
  • 7 years of experience in Lean/Operational Excellence within demanding industrial sectors (Aerospace, Automotive).
  • Proven track record in managing Lean transformation projects and leading continuous improvement teams.
  • Mastery of Lean/Six Sigma principles, tools, and methodologies (Lean Master/Black Belt is aplus).
  • Strong background in industrial change management and organizational development.
  • Ability to define KPIs, analyze complex industrial data, and structure strategic action plans.
  • Strategic Vision & Drive Ability to translate corporate targets into operational roadmaps.
  • Leadership & Team Management Ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams and peer networks.
  • Influence & Stakeholder Management Strong communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and engage shopfloor teams.
  • Resilience & Problem Solving Proactive mindset, rigorous approach, and adaptability in a fast- paced environment.
  • Customer Focus & Integrity Strong commitment to quality, safety, and business ethics.
  • Fluent Portuguese and English. French is a plus.
