Your new Role
The Cloud Engineer will by extension be responsible for maintaining and building scalable cloud infrastructure using a chosen cloud provider, ensuring data privacy across all cloud platforms, optimize solutions that are cost-effective and developing our cloud platform.
The Cloud Engineer will be required to develop and implement scripts, CI/CD and infrastructure as code in accordance with the governance structures and process as defined by the Cloud Engineering Lead.
The governance processes are subject to change from time-to-time as the service to the client evolves or matures.
You will be responsible for:
- Build and implement scalable Cloud infrastructure;
- Provide reasoned opinions about the Cloud platform’s design;
- Develop cost-efficient solutions;
- Monitor and optimize Azure performance and cost;
- Work with the security team to ensure that Azure resources are configured securely and are compliant with applicable security standards and regulations;
- Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration processes to increase efficiency, consistency, and reliability;
- Troubleshoot and solve issues related to Azure infrastructure, working with other IT teams (such as Network and Cloud Broker), quickly and with high quality.
What you will need to be suceed
As a Cloud Engineer you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent work experience in IT Operations;
- Certified in Azure, Terraform and other relevant technologies;
- +3 years of experience working in Azure and with Terraform and Ansible – Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code;
- Broad infrastructure technology knowledge;
- Experience building solutions with Cloud providers (AWS, Azure and GCP) and with their core services (networking, storage, compute, databases and security);
- Expertise using Azure DevOps and related tools, such as Visual Studio, Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Experience building CI/CD processes;
- Comfortable with programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Ruby, etc.);
- Experience using containerization (e.g. Docker) and orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes) for managing microservices;
- Strong understanding of software development processes, including Agile and DevOps methodologies;
- Versed on SRE best practices and operational excellence for Systems Engineering;
- Experience with the three pillars of observability (logs, metrics and traces) and can use these to effectively troubleshoot performance and availability issues;
- Ability to work in a fast environment and to manage multiple priorities;
- Excellent communication skills – Fluency in English.
