A well-established industrial company with international operations is seeking a Certified Accountant (m/f/d) to strengthen its finance team in the Aveiro region. Your new role
As a Certified Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting, payroll, and tax obligations in Portugal. You will ensure compliance with local regulations, support inventory control, and collaborate with international finance teams to align financial practices across borders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing general and analytical accounting in accordance with Portuguese standards;
- Processing accounts payable and receivable, and performing monthly/year-end closings:
- Preparing and submitting tax declarations (VAT, CIT, etc.);
- Leading payroll processing and ensuring compliance with labor and social security regulations
- Registering new employees with relevant authorities and managing salary-related obligations;
- Monitoring inventory through ERP systems and supporting stock audita;
- Collaborating with external auditors and finance teams in other countries:
- Supporting continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Active membership with the Portuguese Order of Certified Accountants (OCC);
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and payroll roles, preferably in an industrial setting;
- Strong knowledge of Portuguese tax and labor legislation;
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written);
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel;
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
