About the role

We're looking for an Operations and Finance Intern to play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of our day-to-day operations, from sourcing of raw materials to export

This is a hybrid position based in Lisbon, ideal for someone hands-on, versatile, and eager to make an impact in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities


Order & Logistics Coordination

  • Process customer orders, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
  • Manage stock levels across multiple warehouses, optimising inventory and minimising waste
  • Identify and manage delivery incidents, ensuring quick and effective resolutions


Procurement & Supply Management

  • Monitor stock of packaging and ingredients to prevent shortages and overstocking
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers


Export & Documentation Management

  • Oversee the preparation and emission of export documents in coordination with our brokers and logistics partners
  • Ensure every export is completed on time, meeting all customs and compliance requirements


Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Management

  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization
  • Enter invoice data into the accounting system for payment processing
  • Apply cash receipts to open invoices, sending customer statements, and following up on past-due accounts


Reconciliation

  • Reconcile bank accounts and ledgers to ensure accuracy
  • Generate and maintain accounts payable aging reports and payment activity summaries


Discrepancy Resolution

  • Serve as the primary contact for vendor inquiries regarding payments and account status
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal teams


Continuous Improvement & Reporting

  • Track key operational KPIs (inventory accuracy, delivery times, order fill rates, etc.)
  • Support the team on identifying process inefficiencies and propose improvements to enhance scalability and cost-effectiveness
  • Generate financial reports and assist with month-end close processes


What We're Looking For
  • Industrial Engineering and Management/Business graduate or post-graduate with up to 2 years after last graduation - IEFP intern with a salary top up from Tarwi
  • Organised and very attentive to details
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic start-up environment - resourceful, proactive, and problem solver
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets


Eligibility

Candidates must have a pre-existing right-to-work in Portugal
