Our client is looking to hire an Asset Accounting Specialist to join their Finance team. This role will play a key part in the setup, maintenance, and optimization of asset-related systems and processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal procedures.
Description
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of asset accounting and management systems, including participation in ERP (SAP) rollout initiatives and definition of standardized procedures.
- Ensure accurate registration and capitalization of fixed assets, allocate associated costs, define amortization schedules, and calculate interest capitalization on relevant borrowings.
- Support contract review processes by assessing the financial terms of asset acquisitions and advising on appropriate payment structures.
- Track and analyze investment budgets, perform variance analysis, and support financial planning with impact assessments.
- Oversee monthly and annual asset closings and ensure compliance with internal reporting templates and requirements.
- Coordinate adequate insurance coverage for fixed assets and construction activities.
- Plan and execute physical stock takes of tangible assets, produce detailed inventory reports, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Deliver accurate and timely asset-related financial information to internal teams and respond to external audit or reporting requests as needed.
Profile
Background & Experience
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/ Economics or related
- 5 to 12 years of general relevant working experience in accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years working in the manufacturing industry managing assets.
Technical Skills
- Good Accounting knowledge of assets in the manufacturing industry.
- Registered within the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) is a Plus.
- Strong command of MS Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and financial reporting.
- SAP is a Plus.
- Goof Level of English.
