Your New Role
As API Website Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving the development and optimisation of a key digital platform that connects business services through robust API integration. You will work at the crossroads of technology and strategy, defining the product roadmap, shaping the user experience, and ensuring technical scalability. Working closely with developers, stakeholders, and business units, your role will be central to ensuring the platform evolves to meet both commercial objectives and user expectations in a global context.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the web-based platform, ensuring alignment with user requirements and business priorities.
Define, prioritise, and manage the product backlog using JIRA, balancing business value, feasibility, and user benefit.
Translate complex user needs into actionable user stories, epics, and tasks, with clear acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with development teams to deliver high-quality features and enhancements on time and within scope.
Perform functional testing and validation of newly released features to ensure they align with user needs and business objectives.
Identify areas for technical and user interface improvement to continually enhance performance and usability.
Oversee the seamless integration of API functionalities into the website, optimising it for scalability, stability, and global reach.
Act as the Product Owner in all Agile/SCRUM ceremonies, driving delivery and fostering an iterative development mindset.
Act as a bridge between developers, business stakeholders, and UX/UI teams, ensuring continuous alignment and shared understanding.
Collect and analyse user feedback and stakeholder insights to guide ongoing product evolution.
Tailor the digital platform to support the needs of international markets and multi-language environments.
Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of security, performance, and compliance with internal policies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
5–10 years of professional experience in product ownership, project management, or digital platform management, ideally within ecommerce or technology-driven organisations.
Proven success in developing and managing API-based platforms and customer-facing digital products.
Strong working knowledge of SCRUM frameworks and hands-on experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
Deep understanding of APIs, web development processes, and user interface design principles.
Business-oriented mindset, capable of aligning technical strategies with broader commercial objectives.
Outstanding communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work in English-speaking development teams and multicultural environments.
Experience working in international settings, with awareness of regional differences in user expectations and behaviour.
