• Reporting to the Finance & Administration Director;
• Play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring tax compliance for the Portuguese subsidiary.

Description

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in compliance with Portuguese GAAP (SNC) and company policies;
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts;
• Support on preparation and review financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow) for local statutory reporting and internal management reporting;
• Manage daily cash position and liquidity, including monitoring bank balances, initiating payments, reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts;
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data for group consolidation purposes;
• Prepare and file all relevant tax declarations in Portugal and liaison with accounting and tax advisors;
• Ensure timely and accurate tax payments;
• Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• Active registration with the Portuguese Order of Certified Accountants (OCC);
• 3 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a multinational company's subsidiary;
• Fluent in English (mandatory);
• Knowledge of SNC;
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
• Familiar with Portuguese tax legislation (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, etc.);
• Experience in PHC is valued;
• Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
