The Role

We're currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Porto. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility, where you'll oversee the daily accounting functions across our group companies. Working closely with the Financial Director, you'll support strategic initiatives while ensuring strong financial governance and compliance. Over time, this role will evolve into a leadership position within the finance function.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure financial consistency and efficiency
• Drive process improvements and contribute to financial strategy
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects and responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
• 5-6 years of professional experience in accounting
• At least 2 years' experience leading or mentoring within a finance team
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent English communication skills (this role is entirely English-speaking)
