Your New Role

As a Desktop Technician, you will be responsible for providing deskside support for individual equipment and the applications that run on those machines. Your primary focus will be on ensuring smooth operation and resolving technical issues related to personal computer systems, hardware, and network connectivity.


Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for personal computer systems software, hardware, and network connectivity.
  • Installation and Configuration: Install and configure desktop systems and workstations.
  • Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of support for VPN, servers, network software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct analysis (root cause analysis) on recurring problems and create corrective action plans.
  • Software Research: Assist in determining suitable software to meet user requirements through research.
  • Asset Management: Be accountable for managing information technology hardware assets.
  • Wide Range of Tasks: Apply your substantial understanding of the job to complete various tasks.
  • Moderately Difficult Assignments: Handle moderately difficult assignments that may require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations (L2 support).
  • General Instructions: Follow general instructions for newly introduced assignments.


What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Experience: Substantial experience in desktop support and technical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Asset Management: Familiarity with asset management practices.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle a wide range of tasks and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills for root cause analysis.
  • Communication: Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
