Ferring is opening an IT Center of Excellence (CoE) in Lisbon, Portugal, from where a new global ERP platform will be operated while supporting the expansion of the current Laboratory Management System (LIMS-Labware) globally.

Your new role

As Senior Labware LIMS Architect, you will be responsible for driving the translation of functional business requirements into technical solutions based on best practices, as well as driving Core Template alignment and governance.

You will drive solutions during Deployments supported by the Architecture and Integration layer; provide guidance on how requirements (backlog) can be implemented; approve functional design specifications (FDS) and review technical design specifications (TDS) (configuration documents and RICEFs); provide inputs to preparation of test specifications for the global core functionalities; support the Change Requests for Core functionalities and Local Requirements together with the Business resources; manage the Change Requests for localizations; and support creation of Cutover plan and execution in areas. Additionally, it is part of your responsibility to support technical cutover (go live preparation and transition management) where required, and, finally, participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Pre and Post PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and Inspect and Adapt (I&A) events.

It is also expected that you can fulfil the role of the Application Analyst in certain areas (no “pure application lead” role).

What you'll need to succeed

An ideal candidate as a Senior Labware LIMS Architect will have gained experience in one or more of the following:

• Working in the Life Sciences industry where you will have implemented the Labware LIMS software system and supported the laboratory environment by improving efficiency and promoting collaboration.

• Assisting in blueprinting and design sessions to gather functional requirements for LIMS implementations

• Configuration of Labware in accordance with technical and functional specifications.

• Validation of computer systems for use in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment and creating and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Conducting knowledge transfer and training of end-users, including sharing best practices

• SAP Quality model is a distinct advantage.

Additionally, we are looking for candidates who have:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A/B.S.) or equivalent required, have a minimum of 4 years of prior Labware LIMS experience.

• Proven ability to design and build Crystal Reports

• Proven experience with Labware main modules: Lot Manager, Sample Manager, Batch Manger, Stability Manager, Environmental Monitoring, Standards and reagents, Instruments

• Currently have up-to-date training on: LIMS Administration, Advanced Configuration Using LIMS Basic, Understanding the Database and SQL Queries.

You will need to be familiar with Agile Delivery principles and frameworks and you must be able to assist/drive solution and process design discussions. This requires a clear understanding of business processes in the application area, including integration points with other areas. Strong communication skills are essential for success in this role, along with the ability to express complex technical concepts into easily understood terms. Additionally, business acumen and collaboration skills are required, as well as being able to operate in a dynamic environment.
